RECURSOS PARA NO OLVIDAR EL INGLÉS ESTE VERANO

Queridas familias,

¡¡FELIZ VERANO A TODOS/AS!! Gracias por todo 💚

PROJECT: YOUNG INVENTORS PHASE 4

 Phase 4: Advertisement and publicity

Take your time to do this activity, you have to think and rethink how to do it to do your best. This is the final activity of our project, so work carefully trying to get the best result.

You have to prepare a video, pretending it’s a TV advert

The objective here is to convince people to by your invention. Look for the best way to do it. Think your advert, write the script,
check your grammar and spelling, rechech your grammar and spelling and, next week, we'll record it!!!

PROJECT: YOUNG INVENTORS, PHASE 3

Let’s continue with our project!!! We are in the third phase (there is one more left!!). So read carefully to know what you have to do.

Phase 3: Present your invention (slideshow, video, model, mural)
Once you have the idea and the prototype, it’s time to explain a little more about it. I want you to prepare a writing to explain your invention

Take care of your spelling and the presentation. Look for the format you prefer to do this, you are totally free; the clue is that your invention has to be explained properly. Here you have the aspects that have to appear:
- what it consists of
- what it is for
- what materials it is made of
- what kind of people will use it
- and any other aspect that you consider relevant

PROJECT: YOUN INVENTORS, PHASE 2

Yesterday you detected different problems in daily life and you thought of different solutions for them. That was PHASE 1 of our project.

Today we start phase 2!!!

Phase 2:  Your prototype
What you have to do is to choose one of your ideas and design a prototype.
It has to be available, maybe you can’t make it because you need materials or technology to do it. But it has to be something you think it can be built.
So it’s time to choose one of your ideas, the one you like the most. Then paint or make a model of your prototype (choose the best way for you), explain briefly how it works.

Here you have my example:
Phase 1: Detect difficulties/problems and think of possible solutions
I choose the first problem I wrote last day. And I choose the first solution I thought of.
PROBLEM / DIFFICULTY
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Many times the soup is very hot and they burn their tongue.
- Something to cool the soup.
- Something to avoid soup be too hot

Phase 2:  Your prototype
And here is my prototype

SIMPLE MACHINES, THE RAMP AND THE PULLEY

Yesterday we talked about the lever. Now it's time to talk a little about ramps and pulley. Take a look at these videos:

THE PULLEY

THE RAMP (INCLINED PLANE)

Here you have some activities you can do about simple machines:

NEW PROJECT!: Young inventors (Phase 1)

As you know, this month we start a new proyect: YOUNG INVENTORS. During these last weeks you have to open your mind and be as creative as you can to come up with an fantastic invention to make our daily lives easier. Let's start!!

First, let's watch these videos to take some ideas:

And now it's our turn!

Phase 1: Detect difficulties/problems and think of possible solutions

The point is to think about what people need and they don’t have yet. And then, think of the best way to make it possible. A great idea can be very simple, it doesn’t have to be complex.

You have to write some difficulties you or some people have, and one or some possible solutions. Here you have some examples:
PROBLEM / DIFFICULTY
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Many times the soup is very hot and they burn their tongue..
- Something to cool the soup.
- Something to avoid soup be too hot
Some people fall asleep sunbathing and burn their skin
- A sun detector with alarm that can measure the amount of tan.
- Something to tell us if we are turning red from the sun.
- A device that gives shade, even when the sun moves
In my room I have different lamps depending on the kind
of light I need. They occupy too much space
- A lamp that illuminates depending on the situation
- Something that holds all my lamps taking up little space.
